Saddle Kits

Generally, Purchasing a Saddle alone may not be enough. In order to use the saddle, other items need to be added. These items are:

1. Saddle

A saddle is a supportive structure for a rider of an animal, fastened to an animal's back by a girth.

2. Stirrup Leathers

Stirrup leathers are the straps that connect the stirrup irons to the riding saddle. Most straps can be adjusted to get the proper fit for different riding styles, varying height between different riders, or varying horse size when using stirrups on more than one horse.

3. Stirrup Irons

A stirrup is a light frame or ring that holds the foot of a rider, attached to the saddle by a strap, often called a stirrup leather. Stirrups are usually paired and are used to aid in mounting and as a support while using a riding animal.

4.Girths

A girth, sometimes called a cinch, is a piece of equipment used to keep the saddle in place on a horse or other animal. It passes under the barrel of the equine, usually attached to the saddle on both sides by two or three leather straps called billets

5. Bridles

A bridle is a piece of equipment used to direct a horse.

6. Bits

The part of the bridle that is inserted into a horse's mouth – enables a rider to cue a horse by placing pressure in and around the horse's mouth. This pressure is used to control the horse's speed and direction of movement.

7. Martingales

A martingale is a piece of equestrian tack designed to control a horse's head carriage and act as an additional form of control besides, for example, the bit. It prevents a horse from throwing its head so high that the rider gets hit in the face by the horse's poll or upper neck.
